June 24-July 2

New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville and more!

Accommodations: Hotels and Hostels

Day 1/2: Welcome to Nashville

The first two nights you will spend in beautiful and friendly Music City.  Nashville’s sites include the Country Music Hall of Fame, Centennial Park with its life-sized replica of the Parthenon, and the Tennessee State Museum.   In the evening you can spend time listening for the next big thing down in Lower Broadway's famous honky-tonks.  Your guide can also direct you to some of the hottest spots for live music known only to the locals.

Day ¾: Walking in Memphis

Before setting course for Memphis, you will visit a certain Gentleman in Lynchburg TN. Tonight you will spend taking in music on Beale Street and tomorrow there will be an opportunity to explore Memphis' history: tour of Sun Studio (you can actually stand where the Million Dollar Quartet stood at the genesis of rock-n-roll), look for the ghost of the King at Graceland, and visit the Civil Rights Museum located at the original site of the Lorraine Hotel.

Day 5: Clarksdale, Mississippi

Clarksdale was at the center of America’s Delta Blues explosion and is most notorious for being the place where then-fledgling blues-men Robert Johnson reportedly sold his soul to the devil. We will never know if Johnson's guitar skills were acquired in a deal with the devil himself, but the song inspired generations of blues-men, most notably Eric Clapton and Cream (whose version of Crossroads still remains a classic rock staple).  Here you can visit several vintage Juke Joints, the Delta Blues Museum and several markers on the Mississippi Blues Trail.  After leaving Clarksdale, we will be spending our night in a casino on the banks of the mighty Mississippi.

Day 6/7/8 The Big Easy: Jazz, Vodoo and Creole

Where better to close our your journey with a bang than in New Orleans.  You will walk through Jackson Square where jazz music fills the air and where you can meet fortune tellers, gypsies and characters only to be found in one of America's most unique cultural centers. In the evening you can join the round-the-clock party on Bourbon Street or, if you want a more chilled-out time with good music and a shrimp po’ boy or a bowl of etouffe, you can enjoy the French district that lies adjacent to the legendary French Quarter.
